Day 2

Breakfast at the hotel
Time at leisure - all the necessary items to create a spiritual and bodily mood at the Premier-Palace Hotel:

14:00 – 18:00 Grand City Tour of Kyiv including visit to St. Sophia Cathedral and Kyiv Cave Lavra Monastery

Sites to visit during the tour:
•    St. Sophia Cathedral built in 1036 by the order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise. The Cathedral contains ancient fresco area that exceeds 3000 sq. meters.
•    Kyiv Cave Lavra Monastery (a medieval ensemble of churches, exhibitions and caves) including inside visit to a narrow labyrinth of the Monastery Caves with underground churches and sacred remains of the monks. Upper territory of the monastery - Refectory Church (inside visit), Belfry (outside), newly rebuilt Assumption Cathedral (destroyed during WW II and now being under restoration), the Ukrainian Applied Arts Museum (inside visit, contains the amazing collection of Ukrainian folk clothes and skilfully painted eggs called “pysanky”, collection of Ukrainian ornamental painting and ceramics).
•    The Golden Treasury Museum The Museum contains a collection of Scythian Golden Jewellery (very similar to the collection that is exhibited at the Hermitage in St. Petersburg - but more exciting because of the unique item - the Golden Pectoral (neck lace) of Scythian Tsars with sophisticated carving - weighting over 3 kilos. The museum also contains a collection of “Treasures of the Church” that were expropriated by the Soviets in 1926 and stored at the museum forever since.
•    The Museum of Micro Miniatures Nickolay Syadristy has created about 100 miniatures with instruments he made himself. At first, he took a whole year to create one or two miniatures. Now, it takes him nearly a month of painstaking work to create one piece - whether it's baby swallows inside a nest made of half a poppy seed, or a red rose on a green stem 0.05 millimeter (0.002 inch) thick, inside a human hair that has been polished so thoroughly that the flower can be clearly seen through it.

13:00 – 16:00 Visit to St. Andrew Descent

•    St Andrew Descent is one of Kyiv oldest streets. This steep, winding stone street is a traditional place for outdoor totes, festivals, and concerts and has a variety of interesting art galleries and shops. It is at the heart of Kyiv's artist community and is a favourite stop for tourists and one of the best areas in Kyiv to find traditional Ukrainian crafts and art. Be sure - you will leave this place with many pleasant impressions and nice gifts.

Sights to visit during city tour:
•    Livadia Palace. The summer home of the last of the Russian Tsars, Nikolai II, and in 1945 home to the Yalta Conference, where Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin met to re-draw the map of Europe at the end of the war - the Livadia Palace breathes the history of the last 150 years. The palace buildings and extensive gardens overlooking the sea and the bay of Yalta reflect the influence of the original architect, Ippolito Antonovich Monighetti, who was sent from Moscow to Livadia after the estate was bought for Tsar Alexander II in 1861.

•    Vorontsov  Palace was consctructed for Count Vorontsov in 1828-1848 by serf-masters according to the project of A.Blore. The Palace is built in pseudo-gothic style with the eastern style elements. Opened for visitors since 1921, the Palace-museum has the original interiors, collections of furniture, painting, china, bronzes, cut-glass ware. Around the Palace there is a wonderful Alupka Park, grounded in 1820 - one of the most known landscape parks in Ukraine. The park consists of the upper and the lower zones and has a large amount of landscape architecture.

•    The territory of Bakhchisaray was settled more than 40,000 years ago. In the 15th century the capital of the Crimean Khanate was established here. The city was constructed by local master builders, Ukrainian and Russian captives, as well as by master builders from Iran, Italy, and Turkey
